digital diary.

i was inspired by my friend jen to start a blog as a way to document my life. digital diary. something to look back on in the future and recollect all fun, crazy things i did (not!).

i originally had a blog back in 2009/2010 when i was living the single life, but was never really into it. i just didn't know how to manage it and i didn't want to come off as the over sharer or someone who is showing off. so i got lazy and didn't manage the blog. my life was connected by social media, and from those outlets i was able to share my life.

but when D and i were trying to do a recap of 2014, it was hard. we were forgetting. missing the vacations we took, and the work trips we traveled for. funny thing was that i relied on social media to track what i had posted! that, and also the various airline loyalty programs to track where i flew to. that was quite the task.

so, i thought, why not a blog? blogs are a great way to document my life, for my family and friends to "follow" me and know what i'm doing. to share life's greatest moments, but not forgetting the sad and somber ones. and a way to note the little things that happened which otherwise would have been forgotten.

Mom has always kept a diary, and she goes back to read hers time to time and would tell me what she had written. reminiscence the old times and laugh about stupid things i did in my teenage years. how great is that?

last october i turned 30, changed jobs, made new friends, reconnected with old ones, and started to see my life more clearly. i'm at a good place. D is at a great place in his life and career. WE are at a great place in our lives. the people around me are all at a great place in their lives. i'm so lucky to have the people around me. so why not celebrate it: the good, bad and the ugly, through my perspective and in my own words.

[ thanks, jen, for the inspiration! ]
