circuit.

the main source of my exercise has been practicing yoga. it's been a routine for the last six month, and i've been very happy. i knew that it wasn't enough for me: i usually need more weights, a little cardio, and someone to keep me on my toes.

a few weeks ago, i went to take my first circuit training class with a co-worker. circuit training, bootcamp, semi-personal training. the last time i did any kind of group training was 4 years ago. so, i was a little nervous. but since we bought a gilt city deal, i'm spending pennies on the otherwise $40/session class.

i loved the studio the moment i walked in. it was clean, brightly lit, and since it's a small group (of 12 people), it was very personalized. the instructor, nick, greeted me with a big smile. each session consists of 6 different exercises, which works out different parts of the body on rotation. depending on the month and day, the circuits are switched up, so you'll continue to work on different parts of the muscle to build on strength and endurance.

i survived my first class, but felt like i wanted to puke a little. the soreness kicked in 2 days later, but going back to practicing yoga helped me stretch out a bit.
